Pandemic Precautions
All PHA conference attendees over 5 years old, volunteers and staff must be vaccinated to attend PHA 2022. Those who register online must show vaccination proof at registration. Those who register onsite must show vaccination proof at onsite registration. Attendees must have received two inoculations (or one in the case of Johnson & Johnson) and a booster of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine by May 15.
International attendees must provide proof of vaccination of whichever vaccines are approved in their home countries. Proof must be in English or Spanish.
Attendees must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test 48 hours within checking in to the conference. Find out how to get a home testing kit.
For those who are not vaccinated, please consider our virtual live broadcast.
Face masks will be required for all in public spaces, regardless of vaccination status, unless eating or drinking. Attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing while in the event space.
The Hyatt Regency Atlanta hotel will require all hotel staff working the event to wear face masks at all times and gloves when handling food and beverages. The hotel will have a designated PHA check-in line at the front desk. There will be a plexiglass partition on peak arrival day.
Child care staff will be vaccinated and masked in the kids room.
Check this page for safety updates as the pandemic situation fluctuates.
Call 888-421-1442 or 404-577-1234 to receive the Pulmonary Hypertension Association group rate. All reservations must be made directly through the hotel to get secure the PHA rate.
You’ll need a credit card and a deposit equal to one night’s room charge to make a reservation.
Reserve your room by May 18. After that date, discounted reservations will be accepted only if space is available. We expect the room block to fill before May 18, so make your reservations early.
If you need to cancel, contact the hotel at least 24 hours before check-in to recover your deposit.
Registration cancellation
If you can’t attend PHA 2022, please contact the Pulmonary Hypertension Association at 301-565-3004 to cancel your registration. Those who cancel their registrations on or before May 10, 2022, will receive a full refund. Those who cancel after May 11 and "no shows" aren’t eligible for refunds.
Hotel cancellation
The Hyatt Regency will hold a deposit equivalent to one night’s stay for each hotel reservation. To receive a full refund of your deposit, you must cancel at least 24 hours before check-in. If you cancel within 24 hours of arrival, the hotel won’t refund your deposit. If you aren’t staying at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, your hotel may have different cancellation policies.
Pandemic contingency policy
If PHA 2022 can't be held in person because of the pandemic, you will be eligible to participate in a fully virtual conference at a later date. Your registration fees automatically will transfer to the virtual event.
Need an ADA-compliant room, refrigerator or other service to accommodate your pulmonary hypertension (PH) challenges? Make sure you ask for a room that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act when you make your hotel reservation. The need for ADA-compliant rooms will be high, and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)
Hartfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. Each of its seven terminals is more than a mile long, which might make walking difficult for some people with pulmonary hypertension. If you need wheelchair assistance to navigate the terminals, tunnels and underground train, contact your airline before you depart. Make sure you request wheelchair assistance at your home airport and in Atlanta for both legs of your trip.
Each airline has representatives to provide wheelchair assistance at the airport, but you might encounter long lines if you wait to request assistance at check-in.
On the day of your flight, get to the airport early in case you have to wait for a wheelchair.
