LLS Health & Safety Protocol for In-Person Events

As a mission-driven health organization, our priority is the safety and wellbeing of blood cancer patients, their families, and the many volunteers, donors, partners, campaign participants, and staff who serve them.

Data collected by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) showed that about one in four blood cancer patients will not form detectable antibodies to COVID-19 after receiving two doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines because of the immunosuppressive side effects of cancer treatment. While one in four blood cancer patients do not produce detectable antibodies after their first two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, 43% of them will produce antibodies after a third dose, according to new data from LLS. For some patients with blood cancer, the third dose led to antibody levels seen in healthy adults. Data shows a clear benefit of giving blood cancer patients three primary vaccine doses, but there is still a large portion of patients who will remain at risk even with the additional dose. In this study, about 20% (139/699) of blood cancer patients still had no measurable COVID-19 antibodies after the third dose. With the safety of our patients and participants in mind, we will be taking the following precautions onsite at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.

Daily Wellness Screening Required for ALL Team In Training Event Weekend Functions

For all attendees of any TNT activity, a daily Wellness Screening is required. This screening will be self-administered through an online form. Please bookmark this link and complete each day once you arrive at Disney and are attending a TNT event.

  • Upon completion, you will be provided with a green "checkmark" if you pass and a red "x" if you do not.
  • You will be asked to show the green check mark to attend or participate in any TNT activity.

All guests will have access to this link throughout the event weekend and should retake the screening daily, answering the questions according to how you feel that day. If you are experiencing any symptoms, we ask that you not attend TNT activities.

Please note that Walt Disney World asks that you not enter the park if feeling ill. Details are in the Health Acknowledgement section of their website. READ MORE

Mask Requirements

For the Rally and VIP reception, face coverings will be required for all attendees. Masks may be removed only while actively eating or drinking. Masks are also highly encouraged when gathering in outdoor spaces where proper spacing cannot be maintained.

Please note that as of 11.18.21, Walt Disney World also requires all guests to wear masks in all indoor spaces. READ MORE
