OVERVIEW

Patients with [italic]H.pylori[/italic] infection are typically treated empirically with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and antibiotics. However, this may not be sufficient to cure the infection, placing patients at risk for serious consequences such as gastritis, ulcers, and gastric cancer. Standard first-line therapy is often inadequate due to antibiotic resistance and failure of clinicians to ask about prior antibiotic use. In this live CME event, 3 experts will discuss the epidemiology, consequences of under treatment, and updated guidance on treatment strategies for [italic]H.pylori[/italic] infection. They will present the latest evidence for the efficacy of different treatment approaches as well as emerging clinical data on a novel class of treatment, P-CABS, with a new mechanism of action that is in late-stage development for [italic]H.pylori[/italic] infection.
