The health and safety of our employees and guests is our highest priority as we plan to return to Mankato for the 2021 mtu Power Generation Symposium.
To ensure a safe environment, we will be requiring proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test (within 72 hours of your first day on-site at the event) in order to attend the in-person event in Mankato, MN. There will be no exceptions to the requirement to be fully vaccinated or have a negative test.
For entry to the Power Generation Symposium, a person is considered fully vaccinated:
- 14 days after their second dose of a two-dose vaccine series, such as the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines or any World Health Organization-approved vaccine for international participants.
- 14 days after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
If you do not meet these requirements, you must present a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of arriving at the Mayo Health Event Center.
The report must be issued by a medical clinic, agency or pharmacy. Self-tests will not be accepted. A prior COVID-19 diagnosis or antibody tests are not accepted for entry into the event.
We highly recommend that any unvaccinated guests consider joining our virtual option, where we will live-stream six of our most popular conference sessions (see agenda for session details).
In addition, we will be implementing the following health and safety protocols throughout the event:
- Social distancing and crowd control through clearly identified distance markers for registration and food lines
- Reduced seating capacity and social distancing for all classroom sessions and meals
- Reduced touchpoints for meal service
- The event center spaces will be cleaned regularly
- Hand sanitizing stations will be readily available throughout the event spaces
Expectations for all participants at the event:
- Individuals who are immunocompromised or at high risk are encouraged to attend virtually.
- Individuals should not attend the event if they have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days or if they are concerned that they have been exposed to the virus within the last 14 days and could possibly test positive.
- All participants will self-screen daily for symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness and will not attend if experiencing any symptoms.
- All event participants are expected to observe and engage in recognized preventive actions to help ensure a safe environment, including frequent hand washing.
- You will be required to wear your event badge AT ALL TIMES during the conference, including during our reception networking functions. This will be provided to you at the registration desk when you check in.
Instructions to create your CLEAR Health Pass:
- We will be using Health Pass by CLEAR, which provides a secure, digital proof of COVID-related health insights via the free CLEAR mobile app. Complete your health screening with Health Pass by CLEAR ahead of time for expedited check-in and entry!
U.S.- based attendees can download and enroll here:
*International attendees will need to wait to download the app until they arrive in the U.S. If you have trouble downloading the app, please see the manual verification information below.
- The code for the mtu Power Generation Symposium is EFATTENDEE17
- In addition to Health Pass, we will also accept manual proof of vaccination or negative COVID PCR test (within 72 hours). We strongly recommend the use of the CLEAR process whenever possible.
- For the most efficient entry possible, every attendee should enroll with CLEAR before the event to complete their COVID-19 pre-screening. Once your vaccination record has been uploaded to the platform, it can typically take up to 30 minutes for your status to be verified. We encourage all attendees to complete this process at least 24 hours before the event.
