The Kaiser Permanente

National 2021

Excellence in Cancer Care

Virtual Symposium

October 29 - 30, 2021

WELCOME!

The Kaiser Permanente National Excellence in Cancer Care Planning Committee would like to invite you to the third annual National Excellence in Cancer Care Symposium, Oct 29-30 virtually.  This interdisciplinary conference is designed to bring together physicians and other practicing clinicians, scientists, leadership, administrators, and all involved in the care and research for patients with cancer from across the Kaiser Permanente national regions.

The conference integrates curriculum about new approved therapeutics, our innovative health care delivery research, and groundbreaking oncology clinical trials research that provide new therapies before they become standard in the community. In addition, the conference will highlight our Excellence in Cancer Care platform with special focus on patient’s ease of access to care through modern technology, integration of new evidence in clinical practice, innovative decision support tools at points of care, and patient education and self- care tools through digital transformation. Through integration, these enablers ensure the cutting edge, timely and coordinated care delivery.

Each year approximately 50,000 patients across Kaiser Permanente are diagnosed with cancer and are touched by a multitude of dedicated caregivers. Our patients require exceptional care coordination so each receives the right treatment at the right time while receiving the personalized care and attention he or she deserves.  The historical events in 2020 have permanently changed many aspects of our lives, including how we deliver cancer care in the future.

We welcome you to join us to discuss what would be the future of cancer care  within KP in the next decade, how we can deliver equity cancer care for our diverse patients' population, learn about our robust clinical trials and clinical research infrastructure, our advanced technology support, advanced surgical techniques and radiation therapy to ensure our physicians have access to cutting-edge treatment approaches and our patients have access to novel therapies.

In our rapidly changing field it will take the contributions of clinicians, administrators, and many others to be sure we continue to give the best possible care to our patients. We hope the two days we spend together this October will help educate you as to what is possible in the KP system and engage you in helping to develop our future. We hope to see you there!
