Author Summit 2021 COVID-19 Precautions
We are thrilled to have you join us in a few short weeks for Author Summit 2021. The health, safety and well-being of all of our guests is our top priority. Here is the latest update on the requirements and precautions we are taking for Author Summit:
Vaccination requirement
Effective August 25, 2021, and until further notice, anyone who comes to a Pluralsight U.S. office will be required to show proof of full vaccination. This includes all authors attending Author Summit in person.
In-office requirements (masks, etc.)
Pluralsight will adhere to any local, state or federal requirements regarding the use of face coverings. At this time, wearing masks is not a requirement, but anyone is welcome to do so if they would feel more comfortable. Pluralsight will provide masks to those who want them.
Social distancing
Pluralsight will adhere to any local, state or federal guidelines regarding social distancing and will ensure that all seating arrangements for event activities allow for appropriate room to social distance.
Accommodations
Authors who are not vaccinated for religious or medical/disability reasons will be able to fully participate virtually from home. All sessions of Author Summit will either be streamed live or recorded.
Sanitizing stations
At Author Summit, you’ll find sanitizing stations situated throughout the building and adjacent to food and drink stations. We encourage you to sanitize your hands frequently—particularly before you eat or drink.
Hand washing
There are bathrooms throughout the building and we encourage Author Summit attendees to wash their hands frequently.
If you’re sick
We invite you to attend Author Summit virtually if you are sick or have any symptoms of COVID-19. These include: fever or chills; cough; shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; fatigue; muscle or body aches; headache; new loss of taste or smell; sore throat; congestion or runny nose; nausea or vomiting; and/or diarrhea.
Contact with someone with COVID-19
We invite you to attend Author Summit virtually if you have had close contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19. Close contact means within six feet for at least 15 minutes over a 24-hour period, regardless of mask use. Anyone who resides in your household would also meet the definition of close contact.
Contact tracing
If you test positive for COVID-19 during Author Summit, or within 10 days of the conclusion of Author Summit, notify us immediately. Email contact-tracing@pluralsight.com.
For additional information, please review the FAQ below.
Where and when will I need to show proof of vaccination prior to attending Author Summit?
When you arrive at Author Summit at our Draper, Utah headquarters, you will be asked to show proof of vaccination to obtain entry to the event. Pluralsight will not take a copy of or retain your vaccination record, but proof will be required to obtain a visitor badge.
How do I prove that I’ve been vaccinated?
You will be asked to show a vaccination record or card to demonstrate proof of vaccination. Most vaccination sites provide these when you receive your vaccination. Electronic proof (including an app that shows evidence of vaccination) also works.
I’ve already had COVID, so I didn’t get the vaccine. Do I still need to be vaccinated to gain entry into a PS office?
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had COVID-19 because:
Therefore, you will still be required to show proof of vaccination.
Do I need to receive both shots to be considered vaccinated, or is one shot enough?
You must be fully vaccinated to come to an office, which means: two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
Will visitors and remote team members coming to campus need to show proof of vaccination?
Yes. Anyone who comes to an office will need to show proof of vaccination.
I have a religious or medical/disability reason that keeps me from getting vaccinated. What accommodation can be made for me?
All sessions of Author Summit will either be streamed live or recorded to ensure that all who would like to participate can do so. Therefore, if you are not vaccinated, we welcome you to join the event virtually. If you believe there are extenuating circumstances requiring you to attend Author Summit live and you are not vaccinated, contact John Whipple for further discussion.
Will everyone participating in person at Author Summit be vaccinated?
Pluralsight’s vaccination policy applies to employees, vendors and visitors alike. All must show proof of vaccination to come on-site. There could be a few instances in which essential personnel working the event have a medical/disability or religious exemption from the requirement. However, we are taking precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy at the event.
