Attire Guidelines
In December, you can expect an average daytime high of 83o and an evening low in the high 60s, so you’ll want to bring summer clothing, as well as a cover-up and/or sweater for evening fiestas.
Daytime Attire:
Casual and comfortable are key.
- Shorts, t-shirts, lightweight tops or sundresses, and sandals.
- If you are planning on sightseeing, throw in a pair of walking shoes, sneakers, or sturdy sandals; rubber-soled footwear is recommended for the deck of a boat.
- Water shoes are recommended for parks, particularly Xcaret, Xenses, Xplor, Xavage, and Xenotes.
Beach, Pool, and Water Activities:
- Swimwear, sunglasses, and hat.
- A cover up is suggested when walking through public spaces and nice to have when you’ve had too much sun.
Business Meetings - Business Casual:
- Women – Capris or slacks with a blouse, or a sundress.
- Men – Golf shirt and khakis or slacks (jeans are not appropriate).
Evening Attire - Resort Casual:
Resort casual takes on a slightly more sophisticated flair by night.
- Women – Capris or slacks with a top or blouse or throw on a summery skirt or sundress.
- Men – Khakis or slacks with a collared shirt, polo shirt, or even a Caribbean-styled shirt.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, bring face coverings as many places mandate that masks be worn both indoors and outdoors.
