You will need a valid national passport for entry into Mexico. For United States citizens, please visit the U.S. Department of State website for more information on how to apply for your U.S. passport. It may take up to 18 weeks to receive a new passport. Please consider paying for expedited service to ensure you receive it in time for the trip, as COVID-19 has caused significant delays in the passport renewal process. Expedited passport processing may still take up to 12 weeks.
It is recommended your passport be valid for six months beyond your return travel date. Please check your passport's expiration date.

ALL foreign citizens traveling to Mexico MUST fill out an Official Entry Immigration Form prior to their arrival in Mexico. Be sure to print the completed form on one piece of paper, double-sided. If you do not wish to complete the form prior to travel, you will need to complete the form during your flight or in the airport once you have arrived in Los Cabos.
Upon arrival at San Jose Del Cabo International Airport (SJD), you will proceed to Immigration to present your immigration form and passport. You must keep your immigration form and present it at your departure.
You will then claim your luggage and proceed to Customs. Please note, porters are not allowed inside the terminal; however, luggage carts will be available. All luggage and personal items will pass through an x-ray machine before you present your Customs form to the Customs agent. You will be asked to press a button that will result in a green or red light. Those with a red light must stop for a routine random search of your luggage, and those with a green light may exit the Customs area.

More information will be provided in your pre-trip package.
The currency in Mexico is the Mexican Peso, but U.S. dollars are welcome in most places. Please note that the exchange rate fluctuates daily. Visit www.xe.com for the most current rate.
Most major credit cards are accepted in Mexico. It is a best practice to call your bank before leaving the country to advise of international travel dates on any card you plan to use while out of the country. When making major purchases, it is always recommended to charge items to your credit card. The rate of exchange on your credit card will be more favorable than the rate available locally. This is due to the large volume of foreign exchange generated by credit card companies at the more favorable "inter-banking" rate of exchange. The better rate is then passed along to the customer.
The electricity standard is 120 volt AC, the same as in the U.S.
