Frequently Asked Questions

Reunion Details

When is Reunion?

Reunion will be hosted as a week-long virtual experience beginning on Monday, June 7, through Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Which Reunion classes will be celebrated?

Reunion will combine this year and last year’s Reunion classes for double the fun in 2021! We are excited to celebrate class years ending in 0, 1, 5 and 6.

Why is Villanova having a virtual Reunion?

The health and safety of the Villanova community are our top priorities. Given the global COVID-19 pandemic, the University must follow all county, state and federal guidelines regarding large gatherings and all campus events are currently being held virtually. Since restrictions on large gatherings will likely continue into the summer, the difficult decision was made to hold this year’s Reunion as an entirely virtual event, rather than cancel or postpone it. While we would like to celebrate in person, a virtual celebration still gives us an opportunity to connect in ways that are safe for all.

Why did you make this decision now?

Reunion planning is a year-long process that requires coordination with campus partners, vendors and volunteers. While progress is being made with vaccinations, there are still uncertainties surrounding new strains and the trajectory of COVID-19. We cannot guarantee that large in-person gatherings will be safe by early summer, therefore shifting to a virtual Reunion now allows us to plan a thoughtful and creative celebration.

Why not wait and see how things are in late spring or plan for later this summer?

Several months of planning are needed for an event of this size and scale. As a result, we were not able to postpone a decision about Reunion 2021 any further.

Why not reschedule Reunion to take place in-person at Homecoming or next summer?

Unfortunately due to a number of logistical challenges associated with hosting Reunion, including on-campus housing and event space, we cannot host Reunion during Homecoming while students are on campus this fall.  As for next June, we are unable to accommodate three milestone Reunion celebrations on campus in one year (0/5s, 1/6s and 2/7s).

Why can't Reunion take place outdoors and require all attendees to wear masks?

At this this time, all Villanova events continue to be held virtually. Given the global COVID-19 pandemic, the University must follow all county, state and federal guidelines regarding large gatherings and all campus events. The CDC recommends avoiding large in-person gatherings where it is difficult for individuals to remain spaced at least 6 feet apart, and where attendees may travel from outside the local area. Travel also increases risks for transmitting COVID-19 due to exposure at airports, on public transit or in hotels.

Who can participate in Reunion?

All alumni, students, faculty, family and friends are invited to attend Reunion! Members of 2020 and 2021 Reunion class years ending in 0, 5, 1 and 6 will have special class-organized gatherings, and all other events are open to alumni from all class years.

What is the virtual Reunion experience and how do I participate?

From June 7-13, 2021, virtual attendees will have opportunities to connect with classmates, faculty and staff through a series of virtual events. Events can be accessed on Zoom, social media, livestreamed or pre-recorded so you can access them anytime. The full schedule of events will be shared via email and on the Reunion website in the coming months.

Can I participate in virtual Reunion if I do not have a computer?

If you have a smartphone or tablet with access to the internet, you can still join the fun! Be sure to download the apps needed to join various events, such as Zoom and Facebook. For the virtual Mass, review the livestream viewing requirements on the Mass page (forthcoming).

Can I come to campus even though Reunion will be virtual this year?

The campus remains closed to the general public in an effort to keep students, faculty and staff safe by limiting the number of visitors to campus. More information on the University response to COVID-19 can be found here.

How do I make a gift in honor of my Reunion?

If you are celebrating a Reunion in 2021 and would like to commemorate your milestone year, you can make a gift of any amount to support any area of campus before May 31, 2021. To make a gift or learn more about Reunion Giving, visit our website
