The Annual Summer Institute on Migration and Global Health is one of the few academic spaces dedicated to present and analyze in depth the interrelation between migration, the health of migrants, and global health from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
The near 300 million international migrants and refugees worldwide are at high risk of disproportionate burden from diseases, because of social, political, and structural factors associated with their migration status. Increasing border restrictions have also had an impact on the mobility of migrants and the role of humanitarian organizations serving them.
During the nine online sessions of the Summer Institute, participants will have the opportunity to hear from experts about different health issues that affect mobile populations, and how national and international policies and practices have impacted migrant and refugee populations in Europe, the Americas, and other world regions. They will also learn about research tools and best practices to conduct research and education to mobile populations.
