COVID-19 Travel Advisory
Due to the global COVID-19 outbreak, the CDC recommends that any person who is considered "high-risk" for contracting the virus avoid traveling to an area where the COVID-19 virus is ongoing. Please visit the CDC website or the U.S. Embassy website for the most current information regarding travel notices specific to Jamaica. These pages are updated frequently based on the current status of the virus containment in Jamaica.
Starting November 2, 2021
All travelers to Jamaica are reminded that the Government of Jamaica Controlled Entry Programme protocols must be observed at all times.
Upon arrival in Jamaica, all travelers will undergo a short risk assessment by a public health officer at the airport. Jamaica established "Resilient Corridors" on the island. Within these areas, approved businesses have been trained and assessed for COVID-19 protocols to ensure the safety of visitors.
Please visit this site for the most up-to-date information regarding traveling from the United States to Jamaica.
Effective December 6, 2021
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced a new Order for all air passengers traveling to the United States. Starting on December 6, air travelers ages two and older, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, are required to show documentation of a negative viral test result taken within one day of the flight's departure to the United States before boarding. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. That includes all travelers - U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (LPRs), and foreign nationals.
For additional information, please visit our FAQs for answers to questions about the requirement for proof of negative COVID-19 test or recovery from COVID-19 for all air passengers arriving in the United States.
The CDC recommends that you do not travel internationally until you are fully vaccinated. International travel poses additional risks, and even fully vaccinated travelers might be at increased risk for getting and possibly spreading some COVID-19 variants. Delay travel and stay home to protect yourself and others from COVID-19. If you do travel, follow all CDC recommendations before, during, and after travel.

When do I schedule my COVID-19 test for my return flight home?
Upon arrival in Jamaica, the Hyatt Concierge Staff will book your complimentary COVID-19 antigen test appointment which you will take one day prior to your flight home.
What happens if I test positive for COVID-19?
If a guest tests positive, they will be asked to pack their belongings and move to a different room to isolate. They will be given a PCR test to confirm the results. The PCR results should be available in 12 – 48 hours.
If the PCR test is negative, the guest can leave quarantine and fly home.
If a guest tests positive, they are required to isolate for 5 days. Guests with mild or asymptomatic symptoms do not have to be retested on Day 5. They will be issued a “Fit to Fly” letter from the Jamaican Ministry of Health. Again, no further COVID-19 test is required.
Guests that are symptomatic, but improving, will be checked daily by the hotel medical team. Depending on the improvement of symptoms, they may also receive a “Fit to Fly” letter. No further COVID-19 test is required.
If severely sick on Day 5, isolation may be required for another 5 days. Guests needing specialized attention will be monitored by doctors and the hospital is 5 minutes from the resort.
What happens if I test positive and my spouse/roommate is negative?
The positive roommate will quarantine and the negative roommate can go home. We discourage the COVID negative roommate from sharing the quarantine room. It is allowed but discouraged. The negative roommate still must test one day prior to flying home and risks further quarantine should they test positive. Meanwhile, the original positive roommate would have been issued the “Fit to Fly” letter.
The negative roommate can stay on the property in a different room if they choose.
Who pays for my extended stay if I test positive?
ABC is covering the cost for your extended stay at the resort in the unlikely event you test positive. Isolation accommodations are in a standard category room, including food and beverage.
Do I have to stay in my room if I test positive?
Guests must stay in their rooms. They may not leave until issued a “Fit to Fly” letter by the Ministry of Health. A balcony is available in each quarantine room.
Rest assured, we are taking the necessary steps to keep you healthy and safe.
