Program Description:

Over the course of the past year, blood cancer patients and caregivers have struggled with the uncertainty of how to manage their disease during the COVID-19 pandemic. At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) we hear every day from patients and families who have questions about their risk of contracting the virus, the impact of COVID-19 on their treatment, as well as the vaccines and their efficacy and safety for cancer patients. We want to do all we can to support blood cancer patients and their families during these unprecedented times.

Patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers are invited to hear from Dr. Catriona Jamieson, a leading physician-scientist in the cancer stem cell biology field and pioneering researcher in cancer stem cell therapeutics, and Dr. Derrick Rossi, a cutting-edgestem cell scientist and founder of multiple biotechnology start-ups, including the COVID-19 vaccine producer Moderna. Dr. Jamieson and Dr. Rossi will provide information and insights on navigating a blood cancer diagnosis during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Participants will also learn about support resources available through LLS.

Healthcare professionals are invited to participate. No Continuing Education Credits are offered for this program.
