Queenstown offers a wide range of cycling and hiking tracks and trails ranging from scenic tracks to spectacular lakeside or backcountry trails. One of the must-do experiences is the Queenstown Cycle Trail which takes you past the spectacular scenery of Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables, to gold rush era Arrowtown, the iconic Kawarau bridge bungy jump and past a variety of cafes and wineries.

Situated on the banks of the ARrow River is historic Arrowtown, established during the gold rush of the 1860's. Only 20 minutes from Queenstown, this picturesque and vibrant town is home to the Lakes District Museum - the best small museum in New Zealand, a preserved gold rush village, an international golf course and 4WD scenic tours. It is also the centre for most walking and cycling tracks in the Wakatipu.

Gibbston Vally is located just 20 minutes from Queenstown and is home to a range of vineyards, restaurants and cafes. Hire a bicycle to explore this beautiful region, taking time to explore the vineyards, meet the winemakers, taste award winning Central Otago Pinot Noir and explore New Zealand's largest Wine Cave.

Less than an hour from Queenstown is beautiful Glenorchy. Set against a background of native beech forest and towering mountain ranges, it is home to filming locations from the Lord of the Rings, including Isengard, Amon Hen, Lorhlorien Forest, The Misty Mountains and Ithilien.

Typically the average maximum daytime temperature in Queenstown is a cool 6 - 10°C. The average August night-time temperature is usually a very cold 1°C.

Transportation

Coach transfers from Queenstown Airport to Millennium & Copthorne Hotels to Queenstown Airport will be operating on Wednesday 5 August for the departing flights to Australia.

If you are arriving and departing on dates other than the above dates when coach transfers are offered, please make your own way to and from the hotel.
