OVERVIEW
Having spread to 192 countries, the COVID-19 pandemic is responsible for more than 107 million cases of illness and 2.4 million deaths worldwide. There is an urgent need for effective therapies to combat this public health crisis. Although there are many agents and vaccines currently under study, neutralizing monoclonal antibodies (NAbs) have shown significant promise in their ability to neutralize the SARS-CoV-2 virus among infected individuals and preventing infection in others. This is of particular significance for individuals who are at increased risk for severe disease, but who may not be able to mount their own immune response owing to use of immunosuppressive therapies and/or a compromised immune system. As therapies using NAbs progress in their development, it is critical that clinicians remain current with therapies and be prepared to appropriately incorporate them into patient care. This livestream event features 3 expert faculty, case-based discussion with real patients who share their perspectives, and interactive Q&A with the audience.
