ROD NATKIEL

CONSULTANT AND CEO, RNA (ROD NATKIEL ASSOCIATES) LIMITED AND CEO, FAIR TRAIN (2016 - 2020)

Rod has been CEO of Fair Train, the UK’s expert Work Experience quality accreditation and guidance organisation, since 2016. His principal professional activities before that had been in broadcasting and corporate media, theatre and event production, and marketing and brand development/management and consultancy. He had also been actively involved in the Third Sector for more than 20 years as a professional practitioner and as a volunteer. For example, he has produced more than 250 fundraising appeal films for a wide range of charities and was Chair of Marketing, Communications and Media for six years for Variety, the Children’s Charity (aka Variety Club) as well as Co-Chair of its Strategy and Governance Committee.

He has been involved in employability activities all his career, ranging from creating and delivering personal development programmes for the Prince’s Trust to creating and leading a pioneering traineeship scheme to increase accessibility to the broadcasting industry for young members of the British Asian community.

Wanting to commit to the Third Sector full time and, with that lifelong passion for creating opportunities for and empowering young people, he found the opportunity to join Fair Train irresistible. Under Rod’s leadership, Fair Train’s services have been significantly enhanced and broadened and its membership has grown in all sectors, including a major partnership with the NHS’s Health Education England. Unfortunately the COVID pandemic has had a dramatic effect on Fair Train and, with an unsustainable future, it is ceasing to operate. But Rod is continuing his commitment to and passion for opportunities for young people as a Work Experience and employability consultant and programme/workshop creator and leader, as well as returning to video and event production, focusing on the Third Sector.
