Taking time to consider how to actively create a safe space and meaningful Allyship

This webinar will focus on understanding and reflecting on the terms and issues which impact the LGBTQ community. It will ask participants to reflect on their own and their organisations use of language and look at how we can work together to create safe inclusive spaces and promote meaningful allyship.

OBJECTIVES

 
 

This webinar will help delegates to enhance their understanding of:

  • Issues facing the LGBTQ+ community from a safeguarding perspective (Both under 18 and over 18s)
  • How to tackle administration and risk assessments from a person centred compassionate standing point
  • How language has power and how we use it to be thoughtful and inclusive
  • How to create an inclusive and supportive culture within your organisation
  • What support is available externally and we can effectively signpost

Target Audience

 
 

The webinar is for organisations which work with young people and adults, in either a training or service provision position.  It is meant to be a space for reflection and ultimately promote action to ensure inclusion and compassion are keystones is individual practice and organisational operations.

This is not a basic safeguarding course and would be delivered assuming a clear understanding of safeguarding.  However, this would suitable for non-senior/ non managerial staff.
