ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Microtunnelling has been a common construction method for gravity and pressure pipelines in North America. This webinar includes two case study presentations on microtunnelling equipment, methods and processes, applied to successfully complete challenging projects.

The first presentation is the “Calamity Creek Twin Culvert Installation” by Walter Trisi, from TRS Tunnelling Inc. This presentation discusses the challenges in design and construction of the launch and retrieval shafts, the ground conditions, and issues with mobilizing projects while working on a tight job site with multiple contractors’ operations. The second presentation is the “Pilot Tube Method, the Little Brother to Microtunneling” by Steve Matheny, from Logan Clay Products Inc. This presentation focuses on the specific design considerations, construction processes, and the reasons for utilizing Pilot Tube Guided Boring on the installation of a 21-inch gravity sanitary sewer project.

Who should attend?

Municipal engineers, technicians, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and anyone involved or interested in learning more about the challenges in design and installation of underground pipelines and conduits using Microtunnelling technology. Attendees will learn from leading international and national industry experts on state-of-the art construction processes, design, and risk mitigation.
