We’re excited to be hosting a WIPS Summit this year.  Thanks to technology we’re able to still host a Summit for 2020 on a virtual platform.  Here you’ll find everything that you’ll need to know to maximise your virtual experience.

VIRTUAL FAQ

How do I prepare for a virtual event?

It will be good to plan ahead of time by having a quiet space with good lighting and internet access. This will maximise your virtual experience.

Your device needs to have a camera, microphone and speakers. You will have the opportunity to engage in virtual conversations not just chatbox conversations.

What do I need on the day?

You will need to have your smart phone with the ACE Event App downloaded prior to the event. We also recommend that you have a laptop or desktop computer with the web version of the App open – this is a better experience for participating in sessions.

It will be good to also have a pen and paper handy to take notes and for any activities that may take place in your chosen sessions.

Why do I need to download the ACE Event App?

The virtual summit will be hosted inside the ACE Event App.  This is where you will access all information and all the sessions.

When am I able to download the ACE Event App?

Once you have registered you will be sent an email with instructions to download the ACE Event App at later date.  The app is free to download, and we highly recommend downloading it onto your smart phone.

Tell me more about the Event App before I download it

The ACE Event App is a great way to stay connected and interact during the Summit.  It is free to download on the Apple Store or Google Play store.  Here are just a few benefits from using our Event App:

  • Interact and exchange virtual business cards with fellow attendees
  • Interaction with our speakers with live Q&A and polls with real time answers
  • Full programme in the palm of your hand
  • All the information you need to know about the Summit is built into the app

When do I download the ACE Event app?

Once you have registered you will be sent an email with instructions to download the ACE Event App at later date.  The app is free to download, and we highly recommend downloading it onto your smart phone.  You may already have the App installed from previous WIPS events.

Why do I need to download the ACE Event App onto both my smart phone and onto another device?

We recommend downloading the app onto your smart phone and use your phone to interact with other delegates, view speaker profiles, post messages to the Social Feed, have one-on-one chats with fellow attendees and personalise your programme for the day.

Using a PC or Laptop to watch the livestream sessions will make it easier on the eyes, as well as provide a few additional functions which aren’t available to you via a phone or tablet such as the Chat and Q&A functions in Zoom.  Think of it like using your PC/Laptop as the “TV” and your phone as the “Remote”.  While you are watching/participating in a livestream session on your laptop, you can also be checking in on the App on your phone to share your feedback or start discussions on the social wall.

Is setting up a personal profile necessary?

We highly recommend setting up your personal profile inside the event App prior to the event.  The personal profile is like a digital business card that is available for delegates to view.  People are then free to choose who they want to connect with and possibly would want to collaborate with in the near future and start exchanging messages directly in the App. All you need is a profile picture, a short bio and some basic contact info and you’re good to go!
