This webinar is designed to help participants develop their understanding of how learning theories can support the planning and delivery of learning.

On completion of the webinar, participants should be able to describe and explain the relevance of the theories listed below to the design and delivery of vocational learning sessions:

  • The Humanistic theories of learning with their focus on meeting the emotional needs of learners.
  • The Cognitivist theories of learning and their focus on the idea that learners must construct their own meanings from what they are taught.
  • The Behaviourist theories of learning and their focus on ideas about rewards and motivation.
  • The Neurolism theories of learning and their focus on brain-based learning / information processing.
