Questions?

What is the purpose of this event?

The purpose of this event is to bring together marketers from across the company to foster marketing community across businesses and regions, build marketing capability and inspire and challenge marketers to think differently about marketing at Ingersoll Rand.

Who is invited?

Around 150 marketers (as nominated by the Marketing Leadership Council) and partners from around the company and world will be in attendance. Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we cannot invite or accommodate everyone. Those who are able to attend should plan to bring back their learnings and takeaways to their colleagues who were not able to attend.

What kind of topics will be covered?

Topics covered will include customer-focused marketing strategy, channel marketing, content, leveraging data, design, brand strategy, social media marketing, building your network, and more.

What times should I plan for my flights to arrive and depart?

You should plan to get into Charlotte the evening of Sunday, April 21 or the morning of Monday, April 22 by 10 am EST so you have time to drop your bags at the hotel (check-in may not be available until 3:00 pm) or go directly to the venue to get checked in for the conference and eat lunch. Lunch and check-in starts at the venue at 11:30 am and lunch will be served until 12:50 pm. The conference starts at 1:00 pm. If you don’t drop your bags at the hotel before the event, there will be a place to store them at the event venue.

Conference events end at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, April 23, so it’s recommended that departure flights are booked for the morning of Wednesday, April 24, unless you plan to stay in the area longer for other meetings.

Do I need to book a hotel room?

In the registration process, you should select whether or not you plan to stay at the conference hotel and which nights you plan to stay. The room will then be booked on your behalf. You are responsible for payment by credit card when you check in at the hotel. It is suggested that both people from out of town and the Charlotte area stay at the hotel Monday and Tuesday nights, as there will be conference events both Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Who is organizing this event?

This event is organized by the Ingersoll Rand Enterprise Strategic Marketing Team and the Marketing Leadership Council.

If I’m travelling in from out of town, do I need to rent a car?

You can either rent a car or uses taxis or ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft to get from the airport to the hotel/venue, and from the venue/hotel to the airport. There will be parking at the hotel and event venue. There will not be a shuttle from the hotel to event venue on Monday (you should go directly to event venue or if you stop at the hotel, determine your own transportation from the hotel to the venue), but there will be a shuttle from the event venue back to the hotel on Monday evening, Tuesday morning from the hotel to event venue, and Tuesday evening from the event venue to the hotel.

What’s the dress code?

Day 1 – Business Casual

Day 2 – Weekend Casual – wear your favorite t-shirt (seriously) and be comfortable!

What’s the deal with this book exchange?

We can’t think of a better way to get to know your fellow marketers than learning more about something that has INSPIRED and IGNITED a passion within them. We also can’t think of a better way to do this than through the sharing of a book. But not just any book. We’re asking you to bring one book that INSPIRED you… that IGNITED your passion… that IMPACTED your life in some way.

During check in, we will provide a slip of paper for you to write your name and a short message to the recipient. After writing your note and tucking it gently in the book, you will put the book in the “secret library.” The library will stay open throughout the conference for anyone to come and browse. Before leaving the conference, attendees who gave a book can take one book from the secret library home.

What will the weather be like?

Typically, in April in Charlotte the highs are around 75°F (23°C) and lows around 50°F (10°C) with a chance of rain. It’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast in the days before the event, and to pack a sweater, pullover or light jacket in case you get cold in meeting rooms.
