Dr. Afrozul Haq is working as a Professor and Head of theDepartment of Food Technology, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences at JamiaHamdard, New Delhi. Before joining Hamdard University Prof. Haq was working as theDirector of Research& Development at Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital(GDCH), AbuDhabi, UAE. He is the pioneer of Vitamin D research and testing in the UAE andserving as the Founding President and Chairman of International Conference onVitamin D Deficiency, Nutrition and Human Health continuously for the last 7years. Prof. Haq is a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University, India and trainedas a postdoctoral fellow at National Institute of Health and Medical Research(INSERM), Paris, France. He started his professional career from All IndiaInstitute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 1984. Prof. Haq has morethan 30 years of experience as a basic & clinical research scientistworking in a number of research labs, and hospitals around the world includingPasteur Institute, Paris, France; McGill University, Montreal, Canada; KingFaisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, MafraqHospital, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, VPS Healthcare, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He was aProfessor at Dubai Medical College for Girls, Dubai. He served as the head ofBiochemical Diseases Investigation Laboratory from 2001 to 2006 at MafraqHospital in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

In 2006, Prof. Haq developed and modified successfully high-performanceliquid chromatography (HPLC) technique for the measurement of Vitamin D3 andVitamin D2.Prof.Haq has published over 145 research articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed International Journals and conferences. Working on several researchprojects on vitamin D in collaboration with clinicians and researchers at SKMC,Zayed University, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, and Harvard Medical School, USA.Prof. Haq is serving as the Managing Guest Editor for the Journal of SteroidBiochemistry and Molecular Biology (Elsevier: impact factor 4.6) for the last 4years. Editor in Chief, Editor, EditorialBoard member andadvisor for several international journals in the field of medical research andhealth sciences.

On 15th October 2014, Prof. Haq was honored as the chief guestand keynote speaker at the 5th International Conference on Advances in FoodTechnology and Health Sciences held at JNU Campus in New Delhi. Awarded with a recognitioncertificate by Dr. Harshvardhan then the Health Minister of India on 19thOctober 2014 in New Delhi for his extraordinary services in the field ofmedical research outside India.

Dr. AbdelWareth is a board-certified pathologist and physician executive with a special interest in capacitybuilding, quality assurance and health care administration. Graduated from Facultyof Medicine, Ain Shams University Cairo, Egypt. She completed her post-graduatetraining at the University of British Columbia- Canada and obtained theCanadian and American boards in Medical Biochemistry and Clinical Pathologyrespectively. She also obtained a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration fromZayed University, UAE.

Dr. Abdel Wareth previousemployment included British Columbia Children’s & Women’s Hospital inVancouver- Canada. This was followed by her appointment at Mafraq hospital inAbu Dhabi as Head of Research & Specialized Testing Laboratory and DeputyChief Medical Officer, then as Chair of Pathology & Laboratory MedicineInstitute at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. Dr. Abdel Wareth then served as the ChiefMedical Officer of Pathology for Laboratory Medicine Services at SEHA, followedby her appointment as Chair of Pathology at the Pathology & LaboratoryMedicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and finally Deputy CEO &Chief Scientific Officer at the National Reference Laboratory.

She is an active member ofvarious scientific societies and has several publications to her credit in the fieldof laboratory medicine. Dr. Laila is a recipient of Dr. Arthur Bloomfield Awardfor Excellence in Medical Education as well as Sheikh Rashid Award forScientific Outstanding.

Gehad ElGhazali, MD, Ph.D. is a consultant andService Lead Immunologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi,UAE since 2012. He joined SKMC after working at King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh where he was a Professor of Clinical Immunology, consultantand head of Immunology services.

He is a well-established researcher withexcellent record of publications exceeding 70 papers in international journals.
