Is the Age+Action Conference cancelled?

No. The Age+Action Conference is still on! But it will be presented virtually. No sessions will take place in person, and the Omni Dallas Hotel will not host the event. Be sure to cancel your hotel and travel reservations as soon as possible to avoid cancellation fees or the loss of travel vouchers where applicable.

Are the dates of the conference changing?

Now that we’re going virtual, we are extending the conference for one extra day. The event will now run from Monday, June 8 through Thursday, June 11. Conference hours each day will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. If you’re unable to attend all four days, all sessions will be recorded and available for viewing through June 30, 2020.

If you are a MIPPA/BEC/SNAP grantee, your fee is waived. Please follow the registration instructions that have been emailed to you from the NCOA Center for Benefits Access.

I already registered for Age+Action or I have modified my registration for the conference. What do I do?

If you registered for Age+Action prior to April 2, 2020, you will be automatically upgraded to a virtual attendee. You do not need to contact us. As a virtual attendee, you will have access to all conference materials, live webcasts on June 8-11, recorded on-demand sessions, and the Virtual Exhibit Hall through June 30, 2020. An email with login information to access these resources will be sent to you on May 26, 2020.

When I registered, I paid the full $350 fee. Will I receive a refund for the new lower price?

If you registered for Age+Action before we reduced the registration fee, $100 of your payment will be credited toward the 2021 event. Questions can be sent to conference@ncoa.org.

I have not yet registered for the conference, but I’m interested in participating in the virtual event. What do I do?

Sign up to join us! You can register for the Age+Action Virtual Conference at www.ageaction.org. After registering, you will receive an email on May 26, 2020 to access conference materials, live webcasts on June 8-11, recorded on-demand sessions, and the Virtual Exhibit Hall. The entire conference experience will be available from the comfort of your home or office.

Can I get a refund for my registration fee if I don’t want to attend the virtual conference?

Cancellations received before May 7, 2020 at 5 p.m. ET will receive a full refund, less an administrative fee of $50. Cancellations received after May 7, 2020 will not be eligible for a refund. Refund requests should be sent to conference@ncoa.org.

What will the Age+Action Virtual Conference look like?

Age+Action Virtual will include more than 150 presentations that will take place June 8-11, 2020. All conference plenaries will be broadcast live, in real time, along with select concurrent sessions. Through the virtual event platform, you will be able to connect with colleagues from across the country, participate in workshops and plenaries for NCOA and Administration for Community Living grantees, and visit the Virtual Exhibit Hall. All sessions will be available to registrants on demand, along with all conference materials, so you can enjoy them at the time that works best for you. We will post an updated agenda online in late April.

I am an Administration for Community Living Chronic Disease Self-Management Education or Falls Prevention grantee. Does the virtual conference meet the requirement for attending a grantee meeting? What do we do with leftover funding?

Yes, the grant funding allocated for the in-person conference can be used to register for the virtual conference. This event satisfies the requirement to attend one grantee meeting per grant year. Funding allocated for travel and hotel accommodations can be used to support other grant needs or to register additional participants for the virtual conference.

I registered for the Senior Center Tour and/or the NISC Leo Laks Luncheon and paid extra fees. What do I do?

Within 30 days, these fees will be automatically refunded to you. You do not need to contact us. The good news is that all attendees will be able to attend the Virtual Senior Center Tour and NISC Leo Laks Awards ceremony at no additional cost. And award winners can host viewing parties to share in the award presentation fun!

These sessions also will be recorded and available for viewing later. Be sure to check www.ageaction.org for titles of sessions and speakers, as presentations may change from the original program.

What if I am unable to participate in the live sessions?

If you are unable to tune in for the live broadcast, registered participants can access the recordings by logging into the Age+Action virtual platform until June 30, 2020. All sessions will be posted the day after the live session takes place. The process will be similar to logins for live programs, but you will be able to view the presentations at your convenience. You also can access the Virtual Exhibit Hall at any time convenient for you.
