Note on plans for the New England meeting of the Association for Asian Studies and Covid-19
The current moment is filled with uncertainty as a result of the global pandemic, and we recognize that some may interpret our moving forward with the conference in the fall of 2020 as foolhardy. Planning a conference like this requires substantial lead time, and it is difficult to know what the conditions will be in October in Vermont or New England. Colleges and Universities may be having on-campus semesters, working with remote instruction, or some combination thereof. We want this conference to move forward, but also are working through possible contingency plans, including postponing for a year or making the conference a virtual one. If changes occur, we will announce them as soon as we are able.
