Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) provides innovative, world-class healthcare to more than 380,000 people living in the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith local government areas.
We deliver sound, research based and modern healthcare solutions for the benefit of our community and are leading the way in robotic surgery. We opened NSW’s first Mental Health Triage and Assessment Centre, Australia’s first Family Obesity Service and developed a world first test to identify which flu patients will need urgent, life-saving, medical treatment.
Our area is home to hospitals and nine Community Health Centres that serve urban and semirural areas, covering almost 9,179 square kilometres. We also provide tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region of NSW. Our largest hospital, Nepean Hospital, is a renowned teaching hospital with strong links to leading universities.
