Program Details

Join us for a comprehensive education program designed to support patients, caregivers, and community members in coping with treatment decisions related to blood cancers.

Our two nationally renowned speakers, who are both Des Moines residents, are eager to prepare guests with their knowledge on how to best make decisions when facing a blood cancer diagnosis and dealing with survivorship issues.

This program aims to empower individuals with knowledge, resources, and a supportive community to enhance their understanding of treatment options and navigate the challenges associated with blood cancer care.  We will:

• Provide resources that explain the potential benefits and risks of different treatment options.
• Facilitate discussions on shared decision-making between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
• Foster a supportive environment for sharing experiences and building a network of individuals facing similar challenges.
• Equip participants with coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being.
• Provide training on effective communication with healthcare teams, navigating the healthcare system, and raising awareness about blood cancers.
• Examine community base resources and resources provided by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
