The PLA Vic/Tas Region Conference aims to inform delegates of innovative ideas and emerging trends, and provide an opportunity for parks and leisure professionals to share learnings.

The Conference has a strong emphasis on discussions and workshops, sharing ideas and experiences, and networking.

The Conference Organising Committee is seeking proposals for:

·  Solo or shared presentations

·  Panel presentations

·  Workshops

Application Process

·  Abstracts must be submitted using the online system.

·  Acknowledgement of the receipt of a completed abstract will be made by email.

·  Information required with any Abstract submission:

1.  Title of presentation/ workshop

2.  Session Type (solo presentation, shared presentation, workshop or panel)

3.  Length of session (30 min or 60 min)

4.  Presenter name

5.  Presenter job title and organisation

6.  Any additional presenters

7.  Abstract

A summary of up to 150 words describing the issue/ project/ learning. Abstracts will be used in the Conference Program.

Submission Conditions

·  The invitation to submit an Abstract does not constitute an offer to pay travel, accommodation or registration costs associated with the Conference.

·  Speakers will have the option to register and attend the Conference for a reduced rate (speaker rate). Conversely, if a speaker can only be at the Conference for their presentation, no registration fee will be applicable.

  

Hints and Suggestions

·  Equipment, product or service suppliers are encouraged to consider presentations which include a project undertaken by an LGA in which the product/service was used. If possible co-present with the LGA staff person who was involved in the project.

·  Abstracts should focus on key learnings, and not simply be a summary of a process and outcomes. 

·  Sessions which incorporate substantial delegate interaction are strongly encouraged.

·  Workshops are strongly encouraged.
