GENERAL GUIDELINES
Abstracts must be submitted via the online Abstract Submission system ONLY.
Submission Period: October 1, 2013 to February 24, 2014
Language of Submission: All abstracts
must be submitted in English with accurate grammar and spelling suitable for publication.
Abstracts Submission Limit: Only one (1) abstract submission per submitter.
Presenting Author: The same presenter cannot be assigned to more than one (1) abstract as presenting author but can be included as co-author(s) on more than one submission. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the submitter/presenting author to present if accepted.
Co-Author(s): You will be given an opportunity to include up to a total of ten (10) co-authors on your submission and to confirm that they are aware of being included in this submission which includes the presenting author and the submitter (if a co-author).
Draft Status: If you do not click on the Proceed/Submit button (on the Preview of Abstract page), your abstract will be saved in Draft Status. You will then be able to review it and submit it at a later time (but only before the deadline).
*Note: Abstracts that are in draft status after the deadline will not be considered for selection.
Changes and corrections: Once submitted, it is possible to make corrections to the abstract content or information (such as Presenter details, topic, etc.) until the deadline. In order to correct your abstract you must access your submission via the website using your username and password and edit your submission prior to the deadline.
*Note: Changes to your abstract are not possible after the deadline.
Withdrawal: If you want to withdraw an abstract already submitted, please notify us as quickly as possible at iums14abstracts@legendconferences.com stating the title and submission ID number of the abstract to be withdrawn.
*Note: Withdrawal is still possible after the submission deadline.
Accepted Abstracts: An email message will be sent to the Abstract Submitter by early April 2014 with a report on the status of the abstract (accepted or declined). The Congress Program Committee will determine the format, day and time of presentation. The presenting author or poster presenter will be required to register to the Congress by
May 1, 2014 to confirm their acceptance and be included in the Congress Program and Book of Abstracts. Accepted authors who do not register by the deadline will not be included in the Congress Program or Book of Abstracts.

January 31, 2014: Notification of Acceptance or Rejection
May 1, 2014: Registration Deadline
Documents Required:
1. Abstract submission
2. A letter of interest indicating why the candidate should be considered for the travel support.
3. A confirmation from the supervisor, the appropriate Department Head or Dean, indicating that the candidate is effectively enrolled in a graduate program of the institution or is a postdoctoral fellow.
Applications must be submitted online with the IUMS Abstract Submission by
December 9, 2013.
Canadian Society of Microbiologists Student Competition – Oral and Poster Presentation
These competitions are sponsored by the Canadian Society of Microbiologists (CSM). Upon completion and submission of your IUMS abstract by the deadline, please visit the CSM website with regards to completing the additional documentation for the nomination process.
*Note: If you are not a member of CSM, you will be required to become a member to complete the nomination process.
