Title Founder and Chairwoman Company Shanghai Adream Charitable Foundation Bio Shirley Pan Jiangxue is Founder and Chairwoman of Shanghai Adream Charitable Foundation. She is also Founder and Chair of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong-based Cherished Dream Foundation. Formerly a senior executive at various financial and corporate institutions in China, Ms Pan founded Adream in 2008 as a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation focused on advocating and realising equal access to a quality education for students in grades 1 to 9. In January 2014, Adream officially became a public non-governmental charitable foundation, the first of its kind in the Greater Shanghai region. Under Ms Pan’s leadership and guidance, Adream has become a major influence within the Chinese charitable sector, especially in the area of education, where it has garnered considerable social acclaim and media scrutiny for its charitable mission. Ms Pan and Adream have received many awards for their contributions to the betterment of Chinese society and have also been recognised for their professional and transparent business practices. Among recent awards and commendations, Adream’s “Adream Center” programme was named the “Most Influential Social Project of the Year” at the 2012 China Charity Awards, and received praise from then Vice Premier Li Keqiang; in 2013, Adream was granted “AAAAA Foundation” status by the Shanghai Administration Bureau of NGOs; and Ms Pan was named “Most Responsible Leader of the Year” for 2014 by Southern Weekly. Adream has also placed 1st in Forbes (China)’s annual rankings of China charitable foundations for the past three years. |
