Dr. Geoffrey Thompson Title Company Rochester, USA Bio Dr. Geoffrey Thompson is Emeritus Professor of Surgery, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He was educated at Brandeis University and Drexel University College of Medicine, before training in Anatomic Pathology at University of Massachusetts and in Surgery at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He was on staff at Mayo Clinic for 32 years. Dr. Thompson served as Interim Chair, Department of Surgery; Department Vice Chair; Section Head of Endocrine Surgery; and Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and Sciences. In 2017, Dr. Thompson was the recipient of the Mayo Clinic Distinguished Clinician Award. He served as President of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES). He is Council Coordinator for the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons and Chair, AAES Foundation for Education and Research. Dr. Thompson is the author of more than 225 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and serves on several editorial boards.
