Chauntay Mickens '10 (CLAS)

Associate Director of Development

Management Leadership for Tomorrow

 

Chauntay Mickens is a 2010 graduate of the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in African American Studies, where she received a full athletic scholarship for varsity volleyball, twice named to the All-Big East Team. In 2014, she obtained a M.S. from Georgetown University in Business, Management and Operations.

More than a decade ago, while a student volunteer for UCONN’s Husky Sport, she made a personal commitment to serve underrepresented communities and has dedicated her professional career to organizations that make a lasting impact.

Currently, Chauntay serves as the Associate Director of Development at Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) where she supports the organization’s philanthropic and fundraising operations. Prior to MLT, she spent time at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) as the Senior Manager of External Affairs, The YMCA of Metropolitan DC as an Associate Manager of Development and a Health and Wellness Specialist at the community non-profit, Centronia.

In 2016, she co-founded a social entrepreneurial initiative called LunchBag Social and was subsequently appointed as a District of Columbia Commissioner for the Mayor’s Office of Volunteerism and Partnerships by Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Chauntay is a proud California native and a 20-year resident of the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.
