Jillian Wanik received her Doctor of Clinical Nutrition at Rutgers University, she is a Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) and is Board Certified in Sports Dietetics and Nutrition Support. Her doctoral research examined the relationships between physical activity level and changes in anthropometrics and health related quality of life among participants in a worksite wellness program. She currently works as an educator in UCONN’s Dietetic Programs and as an inpatient dietitian at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Jillian has a passion for wellness and has delivered nutrition interventions that positively impact health outcomes in a variety of populations. She has been part of a global interdisciplinary catering team working at the Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Beijing and London where she defined and set standards and policies for elite athlete fueling. As an educator, Jillian teaches the science of medical nutrition along with the educational strategies necessary to impact behavior change. Food is medicine and plays a key role in chronic disease prevention and management. During the summers, Jillian brings students to Italy to study the Mediterranean diet and the role the Mediterranean diet plays in our health and environment.
