Molly A. Brewer, DVM, MD, MS

Dr. Molly Brewer is currently Chair and Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut Health Science Center and Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. She is board certified in Gynecologic Oncology, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Palliative Care.

Dr. Brewer specializes in the prevention and treatment of ovarian cancer as well as other gynecologic cancers. She first received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in 1976. From there, she went on to get her M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) in 1991 from the State University of New York (SUNY) in Syracuse, New York where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society. She completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oregon Health Science in Portland. She was a Galloway Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York in 1993, and completed her Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She received her Master of Science in "Statistical Analysis and Clinical Research Design" from the University of Michigan School of Public Health in 1999. Following her fellowship, she had a joint appointment with University of Texas-Houston Medical School and MD Anderson Cancer Center and in 2001 she was recruited to the Arizona Cancer Center at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she was the director of the cancer center’s gynecologic oncology division and was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. She was recruited to the UConn Health Center in 2006 and was promoted to Professor in 2008. She has appointments in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Genetics at UConn Health and Electrical and Computer Engineering at UConn Storrs.

Dr. Brewer is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Association of Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research and is a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a reviewer for many journals and a regular reviewer for the ASCO Conquer Cancer Foundation, the Ovarian Cancer Research Program, the National Cancer Institute and the DOD Ovarian Cancer Research Program and is currently on the Integration Panel of the DOD Ovarian Cancer Research Program Integration Panel and the ASCO Planning Committee for the Gynecologic Cancers.
