Bio

Gohar Hovhannisyan is the Vice-President of the European Students’ Union for 2019/20 mandate.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and a Master’s degree in Insurance markets.

Within the European Students’ Union, her main focus is in the area of quality of higher education, with an emphasis given to quality assurance, learning and teaching and meaningful students’ participation in HE governance. She has extensive experience of student representation that started from the local level at the governing board of the Armenian State University of Economics and later was the International officer at the national student union of Armenia.  As a representative of ESU, she currently serves as an Executive Board member of EQAR and represents the organisation at the Learning & Teaching Advisory group of the BFUG. She is in the position to overview the organisational development and capacity building of the organisation including financial management.

Some of the areas she is working on are: Student-centred learning,; Automatic recognition of qualifications; Development of Digitalisation policies and Recognition of prior learning.
