Bio
Natalie Braswell is General Counsel and Assistant Comptroller at the Office of the State Comptroller for the State of Connecticut. Previously, she was an Associate Attorney at Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, PC where she practiced in the areas of municipal finance, public law and general corporate law from 2007-2011. She is the former Vice President of the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association, the Black Law Students Association, and a former member of the UConn Law School Foundation Board.
 
Natalie has received the George & Lorraine Schatzki Award as well as The Hon. M. Joseph Prize Blumenfeld Award. She was involved in the Criminal, Human Behavior and Asylum & Human Rights law School Clinics and the Connecticut Journal of International Law. Natalie was inducted into the School of Law’s Gallery of Pioneers at the Law School in 2019.
 
Natalie is a triple Husky, holding a BA, Political Science, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Connecticut, 2000; MPA, Public Administration, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, University of Connecticut, 2002; JD, School of Law, University of Connecticut, 2007. Her husband, Robert, received a BS in Health Care Management from the School of Business in 1999 and played football.
