Martin Asser Title Associate Vice President for Communications Institution / Organization American University of Beirut, Lebanon Bio Martin Asser moved to the American University of Beirut in 2015 as AVP for Communications. Before that he spent 20 years as a journalist at the BBC specializing in Middle East news. He holds a bachelor’s in Arabic and a master’s in Arabic translation and applied linguistics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London. At AUB he has worked with a newly installed leadership team to optimize corporate messaging, restructure campus communications resources, and implant principles of digital storytelling.
