Weiying Chen Title Deputy Director, Office of Global Engagement Institution / Organization Zhejiang University, China Bio Professor Weiying Chen is the deputy director of the Office of Global Engagement at Zhejiang University. She is focused on global communications. Her goal is to help promote the University’s branding and reputation outside China. She works with her team to develop creative ways to release the latest information about the University and maximize the promotional impact. Before she took this role in 2017, Dr. Chen was a faculty member of the School of International Studies, working on discourse referents and coherence, usage-based effects on language and cognition, and history of linguistics. She has a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. She has extended visiting scholarships at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and Stanford University in the United States.
