Bio
As the head of the International Office at the University of Iceland Fridrika is responsible for international activities of the University. She received Master´s and PhD in Immunology from Yale University, USA. Following a stint as a post-doctoral fellow at Yale, she continued her research on autoimmune diseases at Landspitali University Hospital and a start-up Pharmaceutical company. In 2007 she started working at the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture where her responsibilites included serving as the Secretary General for the Science and Policy Council of Iceland. Fridrika joined the University of Iceland in 2013. In addition to being the Director of the International Office she holds the position as the Secretary General for the National Rectors´ Conference in Iceland. She is also the Institutional coordinator for the Aurora Network of Universities.
