Bio
Tolga Turker is the Program Director for Eastern Europe, Eurasia and Russia at the University of Arizona-Global. He also teaches online courses for International Security Studies graduate program at the School of Government and Public Policy with a Ph.D. in political science from University of Cincinnati (2008). Prior to relocating to Tucson, he was associate professor of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Istanbul Arel University (2010-2015) and assistant professor at KIMEP University (2008-2010) based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. His research interests include privatization of higher education in Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union, transitioning to online teaching, authoritarian regime variations in Central Asia and regional security policies in the former Soviet landscape.
