Bio
Dr. Markus Kajanto is Head of Planning at the University of Helsinki. His responsibilities at the University cover both the strategy process and the action planning process. He is currently focusing on the development of the new 10-year strategy for the University of Helsinki, for the period of 2021-2030. Prior to joining academia, he worked for industry for over 25 years, focusing primarily on strategy process and strategy development activities, including multiple years as Head of Strategy development at Nokia Corporation, as well as strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company. Initially having studied physics, Dr. Kajanto’s dissertation was on industrial engineering and management, and recently he has done research on how organizations formulate views on the capabilities needed for implementing strategy initiatives.
