Shana Watters is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Minnesota. She recently moved to the University of Minnesota after working at Augsburg College for nearly 10 years as an associate professor. Passionate about teaching and encouraging women and minorities to enter into the field of computer science, the move to the University of Minnesota was a natural fit. She is grateful to her community she left at Augsburg College for helping her develop skills and gain knowledge about how diversity helps companies and schools be the best they can be. Now, she brings new ideas and a desire to work with dedicated colleagues who excel in teaching and research in a vibrant and growing nationally recognized computer science program. Her goal is to help students develop needed skills and gain knowledge while becoming responsible and ethical global citizens who will move into industry and/or graduate schools.
