Dr. Zoƫ Wood is a Professor of Computer Science at California Polytechnic State University. Dr. Wood obtained her Ph.D. from Caltech where she studied geometric modeling. She researches and teaches in the field of computer graphics with a specific focus on geometric modeling (from acquired data), real-time computer graphics applications, scientific visualization and rendering. Dr. Wood is also the co-director for the International Computer Engineering Experience (ICEX ), a collaborative effort between California Polytechnic State University, Harvey Mudd College and the University of Malta. ICEX is an opportunity for students to apply their technical knowledge in an international context. The 2016-2018 program is focused on Intelligent Shipwreck Mapping with AUVs with the Cal Poly component focused on the visualization aspects of the mapping project. Dr. Wood is also the co-advisor for the Cal Poly Computer Science student club, WISH (Women Involved in Software and Hardware).
