Bio
Michelle Horowitz is highly accomplished and esteemed leader in the ecommerce, retail, fashion and communications industries, bringing her multi-facted range of skills to executive roles at Diane von Furstenberg, Thomson Reuters and PR Newswire. Now as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Ann Inc. brands LOFT, LOFT Outlet and Lou & Grey, Michelle melds the art of digital and brand marketing with the science of technology and consumer-driven data. During her three years at LOFT—a leading women’s retailer with more than 540 stores and a robust ecommerce business—Michelle has led the brand to double digit growth in client acquisition and Customer Lifetime Value. In Q4 of 2015, she helped produce 12% growth in ecommerce traffic, as well as a 40% increase in mobile traffic year over year. She has also ushered in forward-thinking customization and segmentation strategies, ensuring that the brand is marketing to the right client with the right message at the right time. Michelle successfully boosted LOFT’s brand awareness to nearly 85% by the end of 2015, driven largely by the transformation of the brand’s voice into one that’s optimistic, feminine, fun and refreshingly funny. Through innovative omni-channel marketing campaigns like the Summer Outdoor Movie Series and partnerships with comediennes such as Busy Philipps and Whitney Cummings, LOFT has created a fresh identity and captured the attention of major media outlets and a new generation of LOFT shoppers. In 2014, Michelle also played an active role in developing Lou & Grey, an Ann Inc. subsidiary specializing in clothing for a comfortably confident life. Now with more than 10 freestanding locations and a full-scale ecommerce platform that launched in 2015, she is tasked with developing Lou & Grey’s presence in the ever-competitive women’s retail market through storefront and ecommerce expansion. Michelle earned a B.A. from McGill University, as well as MBAs from Rotman School of Management and École Normale Supérieure de Paris. She was named one of Brand Innovators’ Top 50 Women in Brand Marketing in 2013 and sits on the board of full-service digital agency Rain.
