Dr. Ali Zarzour is the Managing director of HIE, and international Advisor, provider, and integrator in the areas of Health quality, performance, and Information Technology. 

Dr. Zarzour comes from Orion Health, where he started its business in the Middle East and Africa region. During is turnure at Orion Health, he built the business presesnce, operations, and team. Under his leadership the Orion Health business grew above 100% YoY for 4 years, and delivered implementations with top healthcare providers like Seha, HMC, NGHA, KFMC, MSD and others. Before that he worked at Eclipsys (Later Allscripts) where he was one of the founders of the International group, closing its first business internationally.  Then he led the EMEA region as a VP and GM; establishing their presence, hiring the team, building local alliances and partnerships, and taking Eclipsys to the leading position in the region with a pipeline $ 800 M and Confirmed business of $ 140 Million.

 Before that he was with Microsoft Corporation, where he ran the public sector business in the gulf region, and later created and grew Microsoft’s health business in the Middle East and Africa region. He also contributed to the global Health business in the areas of strategy and major wins, and delivered the largest implementation of ERP worldwide at Abu Dhabi Health Authority. 

Ali has a special interest and contributes to the academic society in the areas of strategy, entrepreneurship and development, in addition to his interest in healthcare informatics, and success in eHealth . In 2013 published his doctoral research at the University of Manchester around “Success in eHealth Implementations”. He is a founding member of Young Arab Leaders, a Dubai organization that supports and funds young entrepreneurs.

He holds a Doctorate Degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Manchester in the UK, a Master of Business Administration degree from top ranking University of Warwick, Coventry, UK, and a Bachelor in Economics degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI.  He is fluent in Arabic, English and Spanish.
