ABSTRACT

Three and a half years after its adoption by Evanston City Council, the One Howard Street Economic Recovery Plan continues to see implementation. Howard Street, like much of Rogers Park and south Evanston, boasts ethnic, racial, and economic diversity. The plan’s recommendations are geared toward celebrating what’s working and thinking outside the box to realize a vision for a more walkable and connected corridor. 

From quick wins to big moves, the One Howard Street team has stayed focused on implementation. Visit this intermunicipal corridor with City of Evanston and Rogers Park Business Alliance staff as your tour guides, seeing new public art, co-branded street banners and wayfinding kiosks, and housing developments underway. Participants will hear from business owners and community leaders about the plan’s implementation process.
