This is an interdisciplinary study leveraging wearable technologies to assess human mobility for a rare disease. We design and develop a shoe-integrated sensing system with embedded sensors, as well as a Windows-based user interface for real-time data collection and visualization. We demonstrate that wearable technologies can facilitate objective mobility assessment.
