Encountering unconscious bias is a given for women in computing careers. Actions and words from peers, managers, relatives and friends that lead to unspoken assumptions about one’s skills and capabilities can have impacts to self confidence and careers. This talk seeks to raise awareness of unconscious bias and methods for responding when one encounters gender based STEM bias.
