The design of ‘Smart Fabrics’ that can detect abnormality in foetal movements and heartbeat during pregnancy, is presented. The proposed foetal monitoring system integrated into a garment, is a lightweight wearable device embedded with pressure and ECG sensors. A Bluetooth enabled device can be used to retrieve foetal information and is validated with a cloud based server to check for abnormality.
