Outreach programs play an important part in the efforts to increase women’s participation in technology, but starting a new one presents many challenges. To support program leaders, I present a collection of experiences from 12 programs and a workshop that helps them set their goals and plan activities. In a successful pilot, participants had a chance to learn, discuss and connect with each other.
