When I started out as a software engineer, I struggled to understand why success in my CS coursework did not automatically translate into success in the workplace. Then I learned the difference between activity, results, and impact. Now a Director leading a team of fifty people, I aim to help new software engineers learn the importance of impact much earlier so they can go further, faster.
