Manual 3D image segmentation is necessary for many applications. Even for an expert it is time consuming and non-trivial. Our goal is to improve the quality of segmentation by analyzing how experts perform it. As a preliminary step we field studied 8 users. To analyze study data we developed a coding scheme and verified that it successfully covers the low-level actions and behaviors of experts.
